Pinatta's
View was honored with the request from Meg's Gifts to be a participant
in their annual program which provides specially selected media projects
to 265 children's hospitals and related institutions during the holiday
season. The Coalition for Quality Children's Media (CQCM) in collaboration
with the Children's Hospital at the University of New Mexico, took a
bold step when it initiated a program in 1993 that would review, select
and supply videotapes to hospitalized children. All tapes chosen are
endorsed by CQCM Kid's First Initiative and are used to address emotional
issues and provide support for hospitalized children. The project had
humble beginnings, handling just 20 hospitals at the onset and has successfully
expanded to the 260 hospitals it services today. The program is now
named Meg's Gifts in honor of a young woman, Meg Clemens, who
died of leukemia and whose family supports this program.
We are truly honored and proud to have been selected and involved with
such a wonderful organization.
